A Gorgeous Day for Community Input

Saturday, October 19th was a gorgeous day for community events commemorating the fall season.  As people gathered to rejoice and partake in festivities at local parks, it was also a perfect opportunity to formally introduce the San Gabriel Valley Bicycle Master Plan.

As the first coordinated effort to inform the general public about the SGV Bike Plan, staff and volunteers distributed flyers and stickers, gathered emails, collected surveys and engaged in conversation about ways to improve bike safety in the community.

The bike plan project staff and volunteers hosted three information booths in three cities in one day:
  • Monterey Park Harmony Festival & Car Show
  • Baldwin Park Youth Sports Tournament
  • El Monte Children's Day Parade & Harvest Festival

With over 4,000 people in attendance, the project is sure to gain momentum as we continue to grow community support for a robust Bike Master Plan in each partner city.
