COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Traditionally, community workshops have served as the foundation for community outreach and active participation. In many cases, workshops merely provide an introduction and general overview of specific projects. Unlike the standard sit, watch and listen workshops, these workshops are designed to fully capture meaningful insight, thoughts, comments and concerns while expanding a persons knowledge base. Set up in an open house style, the workshops are broken into various unique stations with the purpose of sparking sincere dialogue, hands-on activities, problem solving and envisioning exercises. The stations consisted of:
  1. Sign-in & General Materials
  2. Goals, Objectives & Vision - An overview of the SGV Bike Plan
  3. Bike Route Network - Connecting local destinations (schools, parks, libraries, recreation centers, transit hubs, etc.)
  4. Bike Programs - Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, and Evaluation
  5. Bike Infrastructure - Determining the right facilities, support amenities and signage
